Biography
An award-winning stage actor known for his role as Mike Talman in Frederick Knott's "Wait Until Dark," Chriss Anglin has seamlessly transitioned from theater to both film and television. A captivating presence, Anglin recently starred in David Zucker's "An American Carol" alongside Kelsey Grammer, Dennis Hopper, Jon Voight, and Kevin Farley. His portrayal of JFK earned critical and audience acclaim for his commanding screen presence and leading man appeal. Born on November 19, 1964, in Hamilton, Ohio, Anglin is one of eight children. Growing up in a bustling household, he developed his knack for performance early by creating plays for his parents and entertaining with jokes and impersonations.
A former undercover narcotics officer, Anglin's undercover work inspired him to pursue formal theater training, which aided him in adopting various personas during intense assignments. His striking looks led to advertising photo shoots, but it was performing for about 200 second graders that confirmed his passion for acting. Recognizing his calling, Anglin relocated to Los Angeles, where he honed his skills through cold reading and scene study workshops with numerous acting coaches and casting directors, including Orly Sitowitz. He also trained for three years in improvisational comedy with The Second City/LA and worked with dialect coach Robert Easton, famed for coaching legends like Sir Laurence Olivier and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who assisted him on "An American Carol."
Since moving to Los Angeles, Anglin has steadily built a diverse resume, featuring specialty, feature, and commercial roles in projects such as Michael Mann's "Collateral" starring Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx, "The O.C.," "The Book of Inside Information" with John Cleese, Jan Wellman's "Sex and the USA," "Dead Men Walking," T.A. Williams' "Stolen Moments of September," and Leigh Scott's "Pirates of Treasure Island" alongside Lance Henriksen. He recently completed filming on "One in the Gun," "American Asian," and Carey Scott's highly anticipated "To the Wall," which co-stars Stephen Baldwin.
In addition to his acting, Anglin performs many of his own stunts and is an expert precision driver. With over fifty screen credits and numerous stage performances, Chriss is a versatile triple threat. He has written and co-written several screenplays currently being actively marketed to major studios. He is executive producing, acting in, and serving as 1st assistant director on the upcoming horror thriller "Slash" and is preparing to make his directorial debut.
