Biography

Billy Lau Nam-Kwong is a Hong Kong actor known for his role as the Police Captain in the 1985 film Mr. Vampire, leading to similar casting in subsequent projects. He has featured in numerous comedy and horror movies.

Following the shutdown of Digital Broadcasting Corporation on October 10, 2012, Lau, along with activists and radio hosts, staged a three-day sit-in protest outside the government headquarters over freedom of speech issues. Lau undertook a hunger strike lasting over 130 hours and was eventually hospitalized.
