Biography
Mariana Méndez Alejandre is a Mexican film producer based in New York City. Through her production company, Mindsoup, she has produced several award winning films including Humo (Smoke), which premiered at the Annecy International Film Festival and was shortlisted for the 96th Academy Awards®, nominated for an Annie Award & the winner of an Ariel Award (Mexico's highest film honor).
From 2017 to 2025, she supported the execution of Academy Award® campaigns for entertainment companies such as Apple (Wolfwalkers), Focus Features (Promising Young Woman, Harriet, Blackkklansman, Downton Abbey, Mary Queen of Scots, Belfast), GKIDS (The Boy and the Heron, Weathering With You, Mirai, Belle), Searchlight (A Hidden Life), and Warner Bros. (Navalny, Motherless Brooklyn). Additionally, she led campaigns for Oscar-winning shorts such as I'm Not a Robot (2025), The Neighbor's Window (2020), and Skin (2019), as well as Oscar-nominated shorts including Bestia (2022), Ala Kachuu - Take and Run (2022), Le Pupille (2023), and The Last Ranger (2025).
Originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, she holds an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business and is a member of the Producers Guild of America (PGA).
