Biography
Raised in Arlington, VA, Sharon aspired to experience nearly everything and embody many different roles. Growing up with a twin sister and a younger brother, she enjoyed climbing trees, biking, singing in choir, and playing records on her small turntable. Captivated by stories both grand and intimate, and fueled by a rich dream life, Sharon’s open heart and imagination drew her to the stage, where she could inhabit and explore various characters and their worlds.
Blending wit with drama and depth with comedy, Sharon guest-starred as a warm yet authoritative physical therapist opposite Rocky Carroll on "NCIS" (Episode 1603), portrayed a sassy wife on "Modern Family," recurred as a selective fashion buyer on "The Bold and the Beautiful," and played a driven tech CEO negotiating a private-equity deal in the series "Cost Of Capital." She took on the roles of a closeted social worker and divorced mother in the gritty pilot "Shrader House," a former Senate staffer confronting gun culture in "Range Junkies," and a pregnant, recovering addict and emerging artist in the unreleased thriller series "Crackerjack."
Her Los Angeles stage credits include playing Becca, a grieving mother, in Malibu Stage Company's acclaimed production of "Rabbit Hole," alongside Oscar-nominee Katharine Ross ("The Graduate"), and the title role of Medea in the workshop of Holly Derr’s adaptation of the Euripides classic "American Medea," featuring Mary Jo Deschanel ("The Right Stuff"). Sharon vividly brought to life Marquise de Mertueil in Heiner Müller’s "Quartet," inspired by "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" (which earned five 2008 L.A. Weekly Award nominations, including "Best Performance" and "Best Ensemble"), as well as all the female roles in Müller’s "The Battle: ABC" (2006 L.A. Weekly Award for "Best Ensemble"), both performed with City Garage.
Her New York theater work includes Shakespearean roles such as Juliet, Lady Macbeth, and Regan, as well as Helen in Christopher Durang’s dark comedy "Baby With The Bathwater," all with the Chekhov Theatre Ensemble. She also played Thyona in Charles Mee’s "Big Love" and Isabelle Eberhardt in "New Anatomies," among many other roles. Sharon was a founding member of the Chekhov Theatre Ensemble and spent three years as a teaching artist in New York City public schools through Stages of Learning. She is a mother of two and currently lives in Los Angeles with her family.
