Biography
Boni Yanagisawa, the daughter of a Japanese Hawaiian father and a Caucasian mother from Pasadena, grew up in Southern California helping in her parents' nursery business. She was a Girl Scout, cheerleader, homecoming queen, and Miss Lake Elsinore.
Despite her father's objections, Boni pursued martial arts, earning a black belt, opening her own dojo, and teaching karate.
As a member of Team Kani, she competed internationally and earned a 1999 National Blackbelt League Hall of Fame title. In 2000, she was inducted into the Masters Hall of Fame for her exceptional contributions to martial arts and is a proud member of V10 Women Stunt Professionals.
Boni has appeared three times on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and performed stunts for Halle Berry, Zoe Saldana, Lucy Liu, Vanessa Williams, Eva Mendes, Bai Ling, Lindsay Price, Gong Li, and Jolene Blalock in Star Trek: Enterprise.
Her recent work includes stunts on "Battleship," directed by Peter Berg, the comedy "Zookeeper" with Kevin James, stunt doubling for Maggie Q in "Priest," Jessica Alba in "Spy Kids 4," Demi Moore in "Charlie's Angels - Full Throttle," and the thriller "Mr. Brooks" starring Kevin Costner and Dane Cook.
Boni's extensive career features stunt work in over 100 television and film productions, along with more than a dozen acting credits.
