Biography
Chris Conrad was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He is the third of four brothers—his older brothers Steve, a scriptwriter, and Tim, and his younger brother Mike.
He has always been active in sports, including football, baseball, basketball, soccer, and judo.
Chris began performing in grade school as the class clown. In high school, he improvised a comedy skit and later, during his sophomore year, entered Florida's Funniest Man competition with his brother Mike. They won $500 and a trip to New York City to perform at the Improv.
After graduating high school, he enrolled at Florida State University, where his older brothers Tim and Steve were also attending. He took an acting class during his freshman year but dropped out due to the course's serious academic approach. However, his acting teacher encouraged him to return to acting.
While in college, Chris worked at the campus radio station, a position he secured through his brother Tim, the sports broadcaster. This role provided another outlet for his comedic talents.
After his sophomore year, Chris moved to Chicago, where Steve was studying creative writing at Northwestern University. Chris spent a year studying at the Piven Theatre Workshop, signed with an agent, and landed his first acting role in the TV movie Mario and the Mob.
Later, he relocated to Hollywood with Steve, who was trying to sell his script Wrestling Ernest Hemingway. The screenplay became a successful film, and Chris began landing more movie roles.
He started with an episode of Raven and a small film called Star Food. He also performs with a Los Angeles improv group called The Stick Men.
Chris has practiced kickboxing and wrestling since high school and trains in Machado Jiu-Jitsu, a Brazilian form of Jujitsu.
