Biography
Trevor Trout was born in Cocoa Beach, Florida, but rarely stayed in one place for long. His biological parents divorced before he turned one. He met his father briefly at age five, then didn’t reconnect until his late teens. His mother moved them around central Florida before settling in Cherokee, North Carolina, on the Cherokee Indian Reservation when he was nine. Life on the reservation was challenging for the blonde-haired, blue-eyed boy, and at 16, he left on his own.
Over the next four years, Trevor moved through five states and attended five different high schools. He eventually settled in Ohio with relatives, but that arrangement was short-lived. During his senior year, Trevor became homeless, couch-surfing and sleeping in his car. His best friend at the time, Austin Russell, took him in along with his family. Trevor graduated high school with a 3.8 GPA and played on varsity sports teams. He applied to only one college, deciding that if accepted, he would pursue his dream of performing; if not, he would enlist.
When Trevor was accepted to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, he packed his car and headed to California. His difficult upbringing helped him thrive during training; he quickly made friends and developed a thick skin. It seemed he was destined for the entertainment industry.
After graduating, he secured several TV roles, including national commercials and parts on Comedy Central's Mind of Mencia and FX's hit show Justified. He starred in the first-ever internet film, Vlog, and worked alongside Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts on the set of Larry Crowne.
When not appearing on TV or in films, Trevor starred in and directed a sketch comedy show that was voted the best theater production in L.A. in 2012. That year was pivotal for him; not only did his show reach number one, but he also began performing stand-up comedy and started writing, producing, and directing films and music videos through his own company, Big Fish Entertainment.
