Biography
Ryan Serhant is an American real estate magnate, producer, TV personality, hand model, public speaker, author, podcast host, content creator, and film actor. He is best known as the star of Bravo’s Emmy-winning show Million Dollar Listing New York (2012) and as the founder and CEO of Serhant, a multifaceted real estate brokerage that integrates media, entertainment, education, and technology. Serhant also produced and starred in Sell It Like Serhant (2018) and appeared in the film While We're Young (2014) alongside Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts, and Adam Driver.
Serhant graduated from Hamilton College in 2006 with degrees in English literature and theater. After graduation, he moved to New York City to star in the iconic soap opera As the World Turns (1956).
Embracing new challenges, Serhant took a friend’s advice and pursued a career in real estate. For more than ten years, he led the top-ranked residential real estate sales team in New York City. In September 2020, amid the Covid-19 pandemic and uncertain market conditions, he launched his own brokerage, Serhant. This mobile-first, content-to-commerce real estate platform features a pioneering in-house film studio. Under his leadership, Serhant has expanded beyond New York to Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, and South Florida.
Serhant’s remarkable success led to a return to television when producers cast him in a starring role on Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing New York (2012), a major ratings hit that airs internationally. His TV appearances have also included 20/20 (1978), NBC, ABC, CNN, Buzzfeed, CNBC, Today (1952), The Insider, and Bloomberg TV. He is frequently quoted in major publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Wall Street Journal China, The Boston Herald, The New York Post, and The New York Daily News. Additionally, Serhant contributes a column on real estate, sales, and branding to Forbes.
He is the author of two best-selling books: Sell It Like Serhant: How to Sell More, Earn More, and Become the Ultimate Sales Machine and Big Money Energy: How to Rule at Work, Dominate Life, and Make Millions. Following his first book’s success, he created the Sell It Like Serhant digital course and education platform to help others excel in sales across various professions. He also hosts the iHeartRadio Original Podcast, "Big Money Energy with Ryan Serhant," and serves as executive producer of Listed, a YouTube network featuring lifestyle and real estate programming with the firm’s emerging agents.
Proud of his achievements, Serhant uses his platform to support numerous non-profits, including Share Our Strength, Habitat for Humanity, the Human Rights Campaign, Charity Water, Feeding America, the Ali Forney Center, the NYC Sanitation Foundation, and Project Sunshine. In 2021, he was named national ambassador for the American Cancer Society’s "Real Men Wear Pink" campaign, which raised over $12 million for breast cancer research.
