Biography
Tim Seyfert is a screenwriter, director and actor from the San Francisco Bay Area.
He earned a degree in journalism from San Francisco State University, then later a master's in film from the University of Bristol in England.
His acting credits include the TV show, 24, the feature film, Pieces of Us and the dramatic short, Down.
Tim is also a published short story writer, with work featured in various literary magazines.
He made his directorial debut with the short film, Terminus, which he also wrote and produced on a zero budget. The film earned critical praise for its story and performances, with Film Threat declaring it "an effective drama which mirrors the real world in so many ways."
From there, Tim wrote and directed his first feature, Nowhere. Shot on a micro budget, the film was positively reviewed and enjoyed a successful festival run, with Tim garnering honors for Best Director at the Monaco International Film Festival, Best Screenplay at the Niagara Canada International Film Festival and Best First-Time Filmmaker at the Montreal Independent Film Festival. Nowhere has since been made available to stream on Apple TV.
Next, Tim wrote and acted in the short film, Down, a story about unresolved grief and vengeance. The film thrived on the festival circuit, earning several awards, including two Best Actor accolades for Tim, first at Indie X Film Festival then again at the 2025 Independent Shorts Awards.
Tim then wrote his second feature-length screenplay, Pieces of Us, which became a finalist at the Cambridge Script Festival. The screenplay was optioned and filmed, with the film premiering in the UK at the 2025 North East International Film Festival in Newcastle, where it won the award for Best Feature. Pieces of Us garnered positive reviews, including the UK Film Review, which rated it "Four Stars" and called it "a heartfelt drama featuring strong performances and an effective script." Tim also plays the co-lead role of Jack Holloway in the film.
From there, Tim was commissioned to write his third feature-length screenplay, Being Frank, which was completed and is in pre-production.
Most recently, Tim was tapped to write the pilot for an animated television series, which has since been completed and is in development.
