Biography
Ai Otsuka (大塚愛), also known as LOVE (愛) or Ai-Chan, is a Japanese singer born in Osaka, Osaka Prefecture, Japan, on September 9, 1982. She was a member of the group HimawaRi from 2000 to 2003. Her debut solo album, LOVE PUNCH, was released in March 2004, followed by her second album, LOVE JAM, just eight months later in November 2004. Her first tour, the JAM PUNCH Tour 2005, started on April 24, 2005, and concluded in June 2005. LOVE COOK, her third album, came out on December 14, 2005. On June 25, 2010, her official website announced her marriage to SU from the band RIP SLYME. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl on March 24, 2011. Otsuka returned in 2012 with the announcement of the [LOVE IS BORN] ~9th Anniversary 2012~ concert held in September. She also revealed a new musical venture, a band called Rabbit (バンド), whose debut album, Rabito, was released on December 12, 2012.
In addition to music, Otsuka has acted in the drama Tokyo Friends. She hosts a radio show titled "Otsuka Ai ai-r Jack" and has appeared in various commercials. Moreover, she writes columns for two Japanese magazines: "Love Column" in Zipper and "Love World ~ Eye Love Pictures" in B-Pass. Her first photobook, Kimi Iro Omoi, was released on March 1, 2005. A skilled graphic artist, Otsuka has also illustrated limited edition picture books included with the first pressings of some of her albums and singles.
