Biography
Dar Dixon is an actor, author, writer, director, and producer with more than three decades in the entertainment industry. His on-camera credits include NCIS: Los Angeles, This Is Us, Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Bosch, Scandal, Silicon Valley, Supergirl, Aquarius, and The Young and the Restless. He has received Best Actor recognition at the IndieFEST Film Awards (Award of Excellence), Playhouse West Film Festival, Santa Monica Film Awards, and Washington Film Awards for his work in Dying to Sleep and The Passenger. He is featured prominently across all three episodes of HBO’s Bring Me The Beauties, directed by three-time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Chris Smith, which premiered June 1, 2026. Born in Tehran, Dixon came to the U.S. at age two, returned to Iran at twelve, and escaped the revolution at fifteen. A former Division I football player, he was recruited at twenty-two into Eternal Values, a doomsday cult led by Frederick von Mierers. The twenty-year ordeal forms the spine of his memoir The Walk-In. He is the founder of Story Axis Collective and is developing The Walk-In as a feature film, serving as executive producer and writer. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, actress and author Donzaleigh Abernathy, youngest daughter of Rev. Dr. Ralph David Abernathy, best friend of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and co-founder of the Civil Rights Movement.
