Biography
Christian Kai is a filmmaker and founder whose work explores memory, identity, technology, and the strange ways personal history shapes the stories people tell about themselves.
He studied Film & TV Production at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, with additional work in interactive media, game design, and emerging technology through NYU’s ITP program. His background spans directing, writing, documentary production, visual effects, internet media, and early-stage technology ventures.
Kai’s current film work includes Between the Cracks, a documentary project about NYC folk artist Jim Power, and a developing slate of documentary and narrative projects focused on overlooked people, underrepresented histories, and the relationship between memory, place, and legacy.
Alongside his film work, he is building Patty.ai, a legal-tech platform designed to make early intellectual property protection more accessible for inventors, founders, artists, and small teams.
Across film and technology, Kai’s work is centered on one question: how do people turn fragmented experience into something finished, useful, and true?
