Biography
Nguyen Stanton (pronounced 'Win') is a Vietnamese-American actress and model based in Austin, Texas. Born Xuan-Nguyen Huynh in Vietnam, she came to the United States as a Vietnam War refugee, settling in Topeka, Kansas, in 1975.
She completed her education at DeBakey High School for Health Professions in 1987. In 1991, she earned a B.A. in English Literature and Composition from The University of Texas at Austin, along with certification in Secondary School Education.
In 2000, Nguyen relocated to San Francisco, California, where she began working in nonprofit management and media consulting. She returned to Austin in 2006 and launched her acting career.
Her theatre debut came in 2008 with The Baron's Men, a troupe dedicated to authentically staging Shakespearean and Elizabethan plays. She has also appeared in numerous productions with The Way Off Broadway Community Players in Leander, Texas, as well as at other theaters throughout Austin.
Starting in 2009, Nguyen expanded into film acting, portraying a wide range of characters—such as ninja, invalid, sex worker, mother, murder victim, detective, nurse, and surgeon—across genres including martial arts, science fiction, thriller, drama, and comedy.
In addition to acting, she models on the runway, highlighting the creations of local fashion designers.
