Biography
Ana Álvarez is a Spanish actress and model, born on November 19, 1969, in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz.
She moved to Madrid around the age of 13.
After completing her studies, she entered the fashion industry and transitioned from modeling to acting.
At 17, Ana went to Japan, where she worked for four months through an agency, then continued her modeling career in Paris and other European capitals, further establishing her career.
In 1987, director Antonio Giménez-Rico sought a long dark-haired Andalusian girl for the film Jarrapellejos.
In 1989, she appeared in the Spanish comedy Aquí huele a muerto with the comedy duo Martes y Trece.
That same year, Álvarez participated in Sólo o en compañía de otros, directed by Santiago San Miguel.
At the end of 1990, she featured in the Televisión Española film Don Juan en los infiernos, a loose adaptation by Gonzalo Suárez of Molière's Don Juan.
Álvarez starred in The Dead Mother, directed by Juanma Bajo Ulloa, alongside Karra Ejalde and Silvia Marsó. The film centers on a young intellectually disabled woman who witnesses her mother's murder after discovering a thief in their home.
In spring 1994, Ana worked with director Ricardo Franco on the comedy ¡Oh, Cielos! featuring Jesús Bonilla, El Gran Wyoming, and Ángela Molina.
In 1995, she appeared in the Spanish-German production Vivir al límite, directed by Michael Guman. That same year, Brujas was released, starring Penélope Cruz and Beatriz Carvajal. In 1998, Cha, cha, chá came out, featuring Eduardo Noriega and Jorge Sanz. She later appeared in A galope tendido (2000) and Las amargas lágrimas de Petra von Kant (2001).
