Biography
Jodi launched her acting career in San Francisco in 1982, studying under theater expert Jean Shelton shortly after graduating from Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa, California. Since then, she has performed in numerous theatrical productions on some of the most distinguished stages in San Francisco and Los Angeles. After obtaining her SAG card in 1986, Jodi's career gained momentum with appearances on popular TV shows and films over the past two decades, including Junior (1994), On ne vit qu'une fois (1968), Stop with the Kicking (HBO), Murphy Brown (1988), Mariés, deux enfants (1987), Friends (1994), Urgences (1994), Les experts: Miami (2002), and Seinfeld (1989).
Following her marriage to actor Jim Fitzpatrick, the couple founded Five Star Studios, Inc. in Los Angeles to produce one- and two-act plays for the stage. As film and TV producers began acquiring rights to their plays, Jodi and Jim expanded into film and television production. They have since created several TV pilots—including Godparent$, Right Hand Man, and Supernatural (2005)—and produced the feature film An American Reunion (2003).
Recently, Jodi and her family relocated to Florida’s West/Central Coast to build studios and focus on producing feature films. Her passion for entertainment started in childhood, influenced by her father, Ed Knotts, who appeared as a guest singer and dancer on The Dodge Dancing Party (1955) with Merv Griffin, and her cousin Don Knotts. Throughout her career, Jodi has worked alongside Hollywood stars such as Robin Williams, Kevin Pollak, Dana Carvey, Danny DeVito, Glenn Close, and even California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
