Biography
Ivan Georgiev Ivanov was born on December 16, 1951, in Asenovgrad, Bulgaria. He graduated in acting from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art in Sofia, Bulgaria, under the guidance of Professor Dimitrina Gyurova. Ivanov performed at the Youth Theatre and the Bulgarian Army Theatre until 1983. The film "Everything is Love" established him as a sex symbol in Bulgarian cinema. Besides his role as Rado in "Everything is Love," he portrayed Assen in "Avalanche" (1982), Vas/Christo in "Combine" (1982), and Trajan in "Measure of Remand" (1983). He appeared in films directed by Borislav Sharaliev ("Boris I," 1985), Zako Heskiya ("Night with the White Horses," 1985), Ivan Andonov ("Dreamers," 1987), among others. After the TV series "Burn, Burn Light" (1994), Ivanov published his first book of short stories and poems titled "This Life, That Life," followed by two more books, "Answer" and "Seven Hours Difference." In the early 2000s, Ivanov focused on dubbing movies and series. For Bulgarian National Television, he lent his voice to the miniseries "Masada," the film "Les Misérables" (as Jean-Paul Belmondo), "Love in the Clouds" (as Keanu Reeves), and others; for bTV, he dubbed Tim Daly's role in the series "The Fugitive." He is married to Petya Silyanova. Ivan and Petya have two sons: Stefan, known by his rap name Wosh MC, and George, who works as a metropolitan lawyer (judge).
