Biography
Freya Tingley was born on March 26, 1994, in Perth, Australia, known as the most isolated city in the world. From an early age, she dabbled in performing arts, exploring modeling, singing, and dancing, but it wasn’t until she joined an acting school that she truly found her passion. The thrill of embodying different characters, distinct from her own personality, offered a unique creative fulfillment. Inspired by character actors like Meryl Streep and Dustin Hoffman, she decided to pursue a similar path.
At just seventeen, with the encouragement of her supportive mother, Freya moved to Hollywood to "give it a shot for a year," with her only fallback being a part-time bakery job in Perth. While she does make excellent raspberry and white chocolate muffins, baking was never her true calling. After countless auditions, she landed a role on Netflix’s second original series, Hemlock Grove, directed by horror maestro Eli Roth, on her 18th birthday.
From there, Freya built a diverse career in TV and film, including originating the role of Wendy Darling in the Peter Pan storyline on ABC’s Once Upon a Time, and portraying Franki Valli's troubled daughter in Clint Eastwood’s film adaptation of the Broadway hit Jersey Boys—Eastwood being one of Freya's personal heroes. Like him, she plans to transition from actor to actor/director in the near future.
Though she still enjoys baking her signature raspberry and white chocolate muffins, Freya proudly considers the film industry not only her profession but her true passion.
