Biography
Veronika Vozniak was born Weronika Wozniak in Poznań, Poland. She grew up as a professional competitive dancer in Konin and Wrocław before moving to the United States to pursue acting. In 2018, she received the highly competitive O-1 artist visa, followed by a green card in 2022, and has been actively working in film and theatre ever since.
As a teenager, Vozniak made her first on-camera appearance as a guest star on the Polish television series Pierwsza Miłość in 2014. She later moved to New York City to study at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, where she completed the two-year conservatory program. Her early short film work included Lost in the Wind, directed by Dan L. Nguyen Phan, which was accepted into the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner in 2016.
After graduating, Vozniak joined the original Off-Broadway cast of MB Stage Productions’ interactive stage-combat production The Video Games at The Elektra Theatre, appearing first as a swing and later as Sheik from The Legend of Zelda. During this time, she began training in Kyokushin karate at Ken Wa Kan Dojo under Shihan Michelle Gay. She went on to compete in multiple tournaments and earned her black belt in June 2023.
Drawing from her background in dance and martial arts, Vozniak has developed a strong focus on movement-based and devised theatre.In 2023, Vozniak made her Lincoln Center debut in HIMera at the Criminal Queerness Festival, written by Wojtek Rodak. She has also collaborated with numerous Polish cultural institutions in New York, including the Polish Theatre Institute at the Kosciuszko Foundation, the Polish Cultural Institute New York, the Consulate General of Poland in New York, and the New York Polish Film Festival.
Since 2021, she has been part of the award-winning ensemble of AnomalousCo’s "beyond" Doomsday Scrolling, recipient of the Jean Dalrymple Award.
