Biography
David Brian Lounder is the proud son of the late Barbara Aloise Cope Lounder, a secretary and stock market investor, and Richard Adelbert Lounder, an automobile salesman and roofing/siding contractor. David worked as an on-air personality on both AM and FM radio stations, before shifting his focus to entrepreneurial pursuits, highlighted by a mobile disc jockey business (26 years), record and tape store, and multiple cinema and Drive-In Theatre operating companies. He studied acting and improvisation professionally in New York City in the late 1980s. Engaged numerous times, but never yet married, Lounder's fourth fiance, 1980s Hollywood model and actress, Heidi Anne Zacher, passed away unexpectedly in 2011, at age 42. Lounder believes drugs played a large role. Mr. Lounder has battled Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (O.C.D.) and clinical depression for most of his life, and in 2008 checked himself into a state psychiatric hospital, after a severe downward spiral. Years of alcohol abuse and poor diet resulted in a three month medical hospitalization in 2012 for pancreatitis, including a two week induced coma, spent in Intensive Care. While comatose, David's organs failed, and his immediate family was notified that he would not survive. The ordeal resulted in his having to re-learn to walk, and left him with severe neuropathy in both feet. Today (2026), by the grace of God he's 14+ years sober, semi-retired, Vegan, and a huge animal advocate. He continues to act in, and produce movies; is actively pursuing on-air radio or television gigs; is an authority on Drive-In Theatres, and dabbles in the buying and selling of collectibles, antiques, and one-of-a-kinds, with all proceeds going to the operation of his two non-profit companies: 'Dave Lounder (DaLo) Enterprises,' a voice for, and guardian of, ALL animals; and 'The Drive-In Guys,' a Drive-In Theatre revival organization. Lounder shares his Connecticut home with his three rescued cats, and surrendered dog. He is currently engaged - once again - to a lovely, young Filipino gal. Let's hope this time he makes it to the altar!
