Biography
Carly Davin Nation is an actress, director, writer, editor, and post audio sound designer originally from Galveston, Texas. In front of the camera, she is known for her comedic roles in Aluminum Gardenias and Whatever Happened to Toddler June on Sunset Blvd, as well as writing, producing, directing, and starring in the digital drama series, "Transfolk", currently streaming on YouTube.
Carly is also an up and coming name in the Houston indie film scene as a talented and sought after Editor and Post Production Sound Designer. You can hear her most recent work on the film Through Sickness and Hell currently streaming on Tubi, Peacock, and Prime Video. Her work as a sound designer and editor is also featured in the upcoming films Merry Little Baby, Repay It In Blood, Blood in the Comments, and more, collaborating with Purple Hart Productions, Pynk Dyamond Productions, and French Descent Productions.
Carly's inspirations and creative influences as a writer and director include JJ Abrams, Agnes Nixon, Debbie Allen, Sam Raimi, Tyler Perry, Penny Marshall, Nia DaCosta, and Calllie Khouri to name a few. Her idols and inspirations as an actress include Melissa McCarthy, Sandra Bullock, Viola Davis, Alexandra Billings, Trace Lysette, Rebel Wilson, and Octavia Spencer.
Carly looks forward to taking on more roles in front of the camera in the near future, and strives to continue to create stories that raise awareness of Transgender issues and fighting the misinformation and harmful narrative that has been placed on the LGBTQIA+ community as a political weapon.
