Biography
Juan Carlos is an actor with over 34 years of experience in Mexico. He was a founding member of the Compañía Nacional de Teatro, where he contributed for a decade. He graduated from the Escuela de Arte Teatral (INBA) and completed Acting Specialization Courses at the Odin Theater, Roy Hart Theater, with Yoshi Oida, Héctor Mendoza, and Jean Marie Binoche. He specialized in Japanese Saber under Sempai Juan Pablo Aguirre and studied Fencing with Martin Benitez.
His acting career includes roles in films, TV series, and soap operas such as "Las Aparicio," "Sr. Ávila"—in which he played the lead role in the Emmy-winning Best Non-English Language Production of 2017—"Luis Miguel: La Serie," "Sitiados," "Y Tu Mamá También" by Alfonso and Carlos Cuarón, "Carnaval de Sodoma" directed by Arturo Ripstein, "Rogelio" by Guillermo Arriaga, and "Esto no es Berlín" by Hari Sama.
Currently, he appears in the Netflix series "Tijuana," Fox Productions' "Sitiados," and stars as Sebastián Caballero in "Promesas de Campaña" on Claro Video.
In 2021, "No Man's Land," directed by Conor Allyn and starring Andie MacDowell, premiered, featuring Juan Carlos as Héctor.
He also plays Agustín Negrete in Claro Video's suspense series "La Negociadora," alongside Bárbara Mori. On Netflix, he portrays Sergio, a key character in seasons 1 and 2 of the series "Quién Mató a Sara."
The upcoming film "Los Minutos Negros" by Mario Muñoz, in which he plays a central role, is set to premiere soon.
Additionally, he will appear in Disney's "Horario Estelar" and the second season of "Un Extraño Enemigo," among other projects.
