Biography
Gaurav Paswala is an Indian actor known for his work in Hindi and Gujarati cinema, as well as web series and international projects. Born in Surat, Gujarat, he spent part of his early childhood in Dahod, where he was raised by his grandparents before returning to Surat for his schooling. He later moved to Australia for higher education and earned a master’s degree in professional accounting from the University of Southern Queensland in Sydney. Initially passionate about cricket, he aspired to pursue it professionally, but a thumb injury led him to explore acting. He trained for two years at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney, where he developed his skills under the guidance of his mentor Paul Berry. Following this, he relocated to Mumbai to pursue a career in the Indian entertainment industry.
Paswala began his professional journey as a radio jockey at IndianLink Radio in Sydney before moving to Mumbai, where he joined the Yatri Theatre Group and trained in voice, language, and stagecraft. He made his television debut in 2011 with Mrs. Tendulkar and went on to appear in shows such as Ek Doosre Se Karte Hain Pyaar Hum, Sajda Tere Pyaar Mein, Gumrah, and Confessions of a Teenager. He made his Hindi film debut with 6-5=2 (2014), and later established himself in Gujarati cinema with films like Je Pan Kahish E Sachuj Kahish (2016), which earned him a GIFA nomination, Wassup Zindagi (2017), and Order Order Out of Order (2018). His performance in 47 Dhansukh Bhawan (2019), India’s first single-shot Gujarati film, earned him the GIFA Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor, while Prem Prakaran (2022) further strengthened his recognition, earning nominations at the Film Excellence Awards (FEA) in Dubai.
In addition to films, Paswala has been active in web series and digital content, including Bas Cha Sudhi (2020), Lootere (2024), and Warso (2024), where his performances received appreciation. He has also appeared in multiple advertising campaigns alongside leading actors and brands such as 7Up, Coca-Cola, Canon, Snapdeal, and KFC, among others, establishing a strong presence in the advertising industry. His work extends to music videos including Lagan Lagi Re (2021) and Kesariyo Saafo (2023). In 2025, he experienced a significant phase in his career with multiple film releases across Hindi and Gujarati cinema. Fluent in Gujarati, Hindi, and English, Gaurav Paswala is known for his versatility and continues to work actively in Mumbai across films, web series, and commercials.
