Biography
Ning Baizura binti Sheikh Hamzah, known simply as Ning, is a Malaysian pop and R&B singer who performs in Malay, English, Japanese, Italian, French, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
Born in Kajang, Malaysia, she comes from a diverse heritage including Arab, Chinese, Indian, Dutch, Malay, and Javanese roots.
Ning entered the commercial music scene in 1992 and signed with several international labels such as Sony, BMG, AMS Records Japan, and Warner Music Group. Since September 2008, she has been producing pop, soul, and R&B music under her own label, HappeNings Records. Her discography features ten full studio albums, three of which are entirely in English, along with numerous compilation albums. Ning has earned multiple music awards and has performed across the UK, Italy, France, China, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Monte Carlo, Monaco, Switzerland, and the United States.
