Biography

Daniel Cotroneo is a visionary film producer and founder of Flashback Pictures. He operated camera on "This Is Us," served as Director of Photography on Netflix’s global #1 hit "A Beautiful Life" and Best Picture nominee at Denmark's oscars "Mens Vi Lever." Cotroneo is a two-time Emerging Cinematographer Award winner who worked in the lighting department on "Mad Men," "Django Unchained" and "Star Trek Into Darkness."

In 2025, Cotroneo launched Flashback Pictures with nine films slated over three years. The company’s "Moneyball" approach leverages undervalued incentives and overlooked talent to deliver studio-quality films at a fraction of traditional budgets. The company’s first release, "Pizza Guys vs Vampires," won Independent Vertical of the Year and a Silver Telly. Flashback is pioneering a groundbreaking human-first, AI-assisted workflow for its current animated feature "River."
