Biography
Daniel "Danny" Roberts (born 1966) is an Australian actor. He began his career with Patch Theatre at age 12 and was part of the inaugural intake at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 1979. In 1982, he moved to Melbourne and appeared in Cop Shop and The Sullivans. He secured a lead role in the soap opera Waterloo Station (1983), which was cancelled after a few months. Subsequently, he became a main cast member of Sons and Daughters, portraying Andy Green from 1983 until the show's conclusion in 1987. Afterward, he traveled to the United States, where he met his wife. They married and have two children, Alania Neil-Roberts and David Jones-Roberts.
Roberts later starred in the soap opera The Power, The Passion, which aired for eight months in 1989. Following its cancellation, he relocated to Byron Bay, New South Wales, where he founded the Australian Theatre Company in 1991. He served as the company's Artistic Director until 1995, then appeared in the series Fire as Ted Cartright, the brother of Georgie Parker's character. His other television roles include appearances in The Last Bullet, Home and Away, Blue Heelers, Murder Call, Stingers, Young Lions, Big Sky, and Close Contact. His film work includes Blackwater Trail, Walking on Water, Beneath Clouds, Mission: Impossible 2, and Dreamland. He also worked on Underbelly: The Golden Mile. Currently, he portrays Gavin Cooper, Nate's father, on Home and Away.
