Biography
Abbilyse stars on the hit television channel Dhar Mann Studios, where she debuted in June 2023. For the various episodes and shorts in which she has starred, she has amassed over 400 million views on YouTube alone. Abbilyse can be seen playing her classic mean girl roles with some cheer leading action on the side. When she’s not Regina George 2.0, she is anything between the quick witted and supportive friend, the shy new girl, or the loving, protective, and sarcastic older sister. In Dhar Mann & Jordan Matter’s original series, Problem Child, Abbilyse leads the series as the spunky, rebellious, and smart-thinking Sasha, who hates being suspended, but hates playing by the rules even more. Abbilyse continues that fiery and sarcastic teenage energy with her role as Teen Oakley in the Netflix Series "Salish & Jordan Matter".
Additionally, Abbilyse is in Filthy, a new film written and directed by Oscar-shortlisted filmmaker Lisa Cole. She plays Hannah, a submissive young girl living as a product of purity culture. Hannah feels confined to unrealistic standards, but she learns to break those standards through the strength in unity sparked by her peers. In "Get Real," directed and written by former Disney Channel star John D’Aquino, Abbilyse plays the sweet, innocent, and ambitious Elise, who is tormented by unexplainable nightmares and grapples with leaving her roots behind. Despite her struggles, she’s the girl everyone looks to. Alongside acting, Abbilyse wrote, sang, and produced an original song, "Pretty Little Thing", heard in the opening scene and showcased her impeccable dance skills later on as well. In Abbilyse’s upcoming film "Still Waters," she plays Sammy, a 17-year-old aspiring country singer-songwriter. Sammy is a stubborn musical genius, much like Abbilyse herself, who has the ability to heal even the toughest of wounds when she allows herself to let down her walls. Through pre-production and filming, Abbilyse picked up her latest hobby and skill, playing the guitar. The title poster and first look at the project can be seen on IMDb. Although Abbilyse is most known for her television and film appearances, she got her start in theater and dance. She has been in multiple main-stage Equity shows. Her last was Theater Under the Stars’ "Mary Poppins" at the Houston Hobby Center, in which she played the principal role of Jane Banks, a mischievous, curious, and hard-headed little girl. Abbilyse’s favorite part of this show will always be tapping in "Step In Time" and learning a British accent. In 2022, Abbilyse was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in the Tommy Tune Awards, the regional qualifying awards for the Jimmy Awards, for her role as Pearl Krabs in SpongeBob the Musical.
By the age of 9, Abbilyse joined her first professional dance company, Dance League, with which she toured the country for 6 years. She worked with top choreographers and dancers such as Christina Grady, Desiree Robbins, Natalie Willes, Tyler Muhlenkamp, and Chris Moss. Abbilyse was simultaneously training and working within a variety of dance styles like ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, contemporary, modern, ballroom, and pointe. Other teachers of hers include principal ballerinas Lorna and Lorena Feijoo, tap extraordinaire Tony Merriwether and Anthony Morigeriatto, dance legend Denise Wall, and renowned choreographer Nika Kljun. At 15, Abbilyse began working as a dance teacher and still works as a master class teacher for studios like Dance Expressions and Feijoo Ballet School today. One of her favorite performances is the 2018 Oscars City Gala opening number she danced in at the Globe Theater, where she got to walk the red carpet alongside Matthew McConaughey.
Abbilyse is a published singer and songwriter with her first release dating back to 2019. Abbilyse has released 3 original pop songs to date: "Rollercoaster", "Originality", and "Undertow". Abbilyse blends inspiration from her own life and others in her music in hopes of making meaningful messages that resonate with everyone. She is developing her first album alongside music producer Michael Binikos, in which she will debut her latest work in 2026.
Abbilyse would not be the actress she is today without the help of her talented coaches and mentors. She has worked closely with John D’Aquino, Shane Brady, and Jim Neib on scene study, cold reads, and voiceover. Japheth Gordon and Jim Neib have helped shape her improv abilities. She’s taken classes from Gloria Garyua, Laura Peete, and Diane Charles to work on audition technique, interview technique, and more. Abbilyse has participated in hundreds of casting director workshops, pilot prep workshops, episodic prep workshops, acting intensives, voiceover studies, improv classes, and scene studies. Some additional people she has learned from include John Beck, Suzanne Goddard-Smythe, Paul Webber, Jamie Snow, Aline Maya Gotia, Harriet Greenspan, Barbie Block, Robin Lippin, Dean Fronk, Donald Pemrick, and Margie Haber.
Abbilyse has continued her passion for the arts by pursuing a degree in Studio Arts, developing her skills in painting, graphic design, drawing, and more. After graduating from college, she hopes to utilize her degree to further her development as an artist and performer. For the rare occasion Abbilyse is not working, she enjoys crocheting, spending time with her dogs, embracing her Texas roots through family gatherings amongst their farm animals, playing the piano, and doing arts and crafts. She resides in Los Angeles but visits her hometown in Texas any chance she can get. Abbilyse’s ultimate dream is to be a part of a multi-cam sitcom, a movie musical, and star on Broadway. She knows that with continued perseverance, these dreams will one day be a reality.
