Tamara Smart most recently starred in Rachel Talalay's "A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting," alongside Oona Laurence, Indya Moore, and Tom Felton. Adapted from Joe Ballarini's bestselling book trilogy, the film follows babysitter Kelly Ferguson (Smart), whose charge is kidnapped by monsters. Kelly joins a secret society of skilled babysitters who protect children destined to change the world. The film premiered on Netflix on October 15, 2020.
In 2020, Tamara appeared in Kenneth Branagh's "Artemis Fowl" with Ferdia Shaw and Lara McDonnell. Based on Eoin Colfer's young adult novel, the story centers on Artemis Fowl (Shaw), a young criminal genius who seeks a secret fairy society to find his missing father. Tamara plays Juliet Butler, the niece and protégé of Domovoi Butler (Nonso Anozie).
In 2019, she featured in Nickelodeon's acclaimed reboot of the cult series "Are You Afraid of the Dark," starring alongside Lyliana Wray, Sam Ashe Arnold, Miya Cech, and Jeremy Ray Taylor. The three-part series explores the lives of the Midnight Society and the eerie events that begin to unfold in their small town.
In 2018, Tamara was part of the BBC ensemble cast of the Hulu crime-drama miniseries "Hard Sun," portraying Hailey Hicks alongside Jim Sturgess and Agyness Deyn. The show follows two detectives with opposing views who must collaborate in a pre-apocalyptic criminal world.
Tamara made her television debut in 2015 at age 10 in the BBC remake of the comedy series "The Worst Witch," starring opposite Bella Ramsey, Clare Higgins, and Raquel Cassidy. She played Enid Nightshade, a first-year witch at Cackle Academy, navigating a world of potions, spells, broomsticks, and one disaster after another.
Tamara lives in London and has received training in dance.
