Biography
Nollis Dewar is a dynamic actor and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California. He is best known for his powerful performances in The Mutiny (2025) and XXenos (2019).
A native of Montego Bay, Jamaica, Nollis is the son of Myron Dewar and Juliet Reid, Nollis comes from a family with a rich and diverse heritage. His great-grandparents, originally from Havana, Cuba, relocated to Jamaica in 1930. His early years were marked by constant movement-by the age of fourteen, he had attended ten different schools. As the eldest of ten siblings, Nollis faced the challenges of growing up with young parents who struggled both financially and emotionally. During this time, his grandmother, Vita Myrie, became a central figure in his upbringing, providing strength and stability.
At the age of four, Nollis's life changed dramatically when he met Rosa Sanders, an American visitor from Los Angeles. Deeply moved by his spirit and resilience, she adopted him on May 11, 1989, and gave him a loving home in Montego Bay's Bogue Heights community, where Rosa had purchased a vacation home.
In 2001, Nollis migrated to the United States in search of greater opportunities. He went on to earn a scholarship to the University of Connecticut, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Psychology. His passion for storytelling led him to further study theatre at the University of North Alabama. In 2012, encouraged by his theatre professor, he moved to Hollywood to fully pursue a career in acting and filmmaking.

Alongside his artistic pursuits, Nollis is deeply committed to philanthropy. In 2013, he co-founded La Familia Movements (LFM), a nonprofit organization in Los Angeles dedicated to uplifting disadvantaged communities. Established with four of his childhood friends, LFM addresses issues of inequality, lack of opportunity, and community indifference. Through the organization, Nollis continues to champion youth and families, empowering them to live healthier, more positive, and productive lives.
