Biography
Born in New Jersey, John grew up in the small town of River Vale, graduated from Pascack Valley Regional High School, and attended Bergen Community College. In the early 1980's he started performing in local theaters, then brought his talents to the Off-Broadway stages of Manhattan. By the mid 80's he had done the New York Soap Opera circuit and was cast in a few supporting movie roles, such as Tommy in the hit crime thriller "Sea Of Love", opposite Al Pacino and Ellen Barkin. In 1990 John moved to Los Angeles California in pursuit of his acting career, where he was quickly cast as a series regular in the role of Eddie G. in a pilot for TV titled, "The World According To Straw", starring Kevin Pollak. He soon went on to Guest Star on the award winning show Ally McBeal as Michael Young. Since then, he has appeared on over 35 television shows, including Criminal Minds, Without A Trace, CSI: Miami and NCIS on CBS. He has also Guest Starred on the final episode of NYPD Blue, the hit FOX show 24, as Joe Prado, Boston Legal, Heroes, Mad Men, Harry's Law and Rizzoli & Isles, to name a few. His most recent role was on Amazon's Golden Globe hit "Goliath" playing opposite Billy Bob Thornton. Though John loves acting his true passion has always been writing. He has written a dozen theatrical screenplays, 3 of which have been produced in the past 4 years. "High Ground", a modern-day-western/action/crime/thriller for Paramount, which came out on TVOD this past March 2025. "Frank and Penelope", an action/thriller/horror that enjoyed a limited release in theaters in June of 2022 and is now on all TVOD and streaming platforms. "Harland Manor", a supernatural/horror/thriller that has been playing on TUBI since October of 2021. John also wrote a television pilot "You, Me and Johnny" that was filmed at Raleigh Studios in Manhattan Beach. John recently finished writing another script, that was produced and will be released in the fourth quarter of 2026. He has three other scripts with attachments, and looks forward to finding the right cast for each of them.
