Biography
Emmy Award Winning Host/Producer for PM Magazine and Best Supporting Actress Emmy Nominee for CBS-TV's Guiding Light, Jean Carol is in Argo, the Academy Award winning Best Picture and SAG Award Winner for Best Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. During her seven year run on Guiding Light, Jean won a Soap Opera Digest Award and four nominations. She began her career at the age of three in New York in the Jr. Theater Repertory Company at Carnegie Hall, and made her first television appearance on The Today Show. Moving to Florida, she became Miami's Jr. Miss, Miss Teenage Miami and Miss Miami. A Phi Beta Kappa at FSU, Jean studied theater and broadcasting, earning B.A. and M.S. degrees, and took on reporting, producing and hosting duties at WFSU-TV, Tallahassee, and later at NBC and CBS affiliates in Orlando where she was active in Leadership Orlando, and San Diego, as Host/Producer of the nationally syndicated PM Magazine, where she earned an Emmy, and four Nominations, and a National Award for producing the Best Feature Story. She hosted numerous syndicated interview and magazine shows including Healthy Lifestyles, with Olympian Bruce Jenner. She was tapped into Outstanding Young Women in America, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and Who's Who in America. She was named one of Glamour Magazine's Outstanding Young Working Women, before returning to acting in Los Angeles in Angry Housewives at the Odyssey Theater. Other theater roles include Jake's Women, Mastergate, Come Back to the Five and Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean, Steel Magnolias, Moon Shine opposite Fred Willard, and The Belle Aires among others. Jean earned critical acclaim for her role as Juror #10 in an all female cast production of Ten Angry Men at the Promenade Playhouse. In film and television, she's starred in many films and television shows, including the series Guiding Light, Ocean Avenue, Lucifer, the Mentalist, Monk, and Six Feet Under. She is a former Host/Producer/Reporter, for LACityView Channel 35, an Adjunct Professor at College of the Canyons in Valencia, California, in the School of Visual and Performing Arts and an instructor at the Los Angles Performing Arts Conservatory in Hollywood. Jean co-produced the comedy short film The Show. She received a 2024 Albert Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievement Award for her work in the entertainment industry and arts education. She currently stars in the web series Misguided with a 4th season set to debut in 2026.
