Biography
Sisse Marie Holzmann Søby (born 21 November 1985) is a Danish singer, model, TV host, and songwriter.
Born in Aalborg, she won Denmark's most prestigious youth song contest on national television in 2001, leading to a gold-certified album. The following year, she received a Grammy for Best Teen Album. Since then, she has worked as a model in cities including Milan, London, Atlanta, Copenhagen, Oslo, Munich, Amsterdam, Istanbul, and Stockholm. Her work includes model photos, catalogs, and billboards for Tiffany Bridal, O'Neill, Heineken, Volvo, Citroën, and Wonderbra. She has appeared in photo series and on covers of Cosmopolitan, T3, Ché, and Marie Claire, as well as walking the runway for Italian Vogue.
In 2005, she released the single "Boom," which debuted at No. 4 on the official Danish singles chart. The next year, she began hosting on Danish MTV, continuing for two seasons. Her show became MTV's most watched program.
On 25 October 2010, she released the gold-certified single "Every Time (You Look at Me)," which reached number 1 in Denmark. Its music video ranked as the 8th most viewed on YouTube worldwide on its release day. On 9 May 2011, she released the single "Dirty Hands," which hit No. 1 on MTV Denmark and Brazil. On 19 February, she released "Kill for Your Love," which also reached No. 1 on MTV Denmark and the national TV channel DR MAMA.
On 15 November 2012, Sisse Marie's song "Paralyzed" was featured in The Sims, the best-selling video game of all time. She was also created as a digital character within the game, which has sold over 150 million copies worldwide.
