Biography
Rodolfo Gusmeroli was born in Milan but grew up in Arona, on the Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore. He graduated in film and television directing in 2018 in Rome at RFA, in Cinecittà. After completing his studies, he worked as a freelance filmmaker and illustrator. In 2019, he directed his first short film, marking his directorial debut: "STURLING", a short film about the career and decline of Domino Sturling (Vincent Riotta), the greatest villain of all time. Co-produced with Inthelfilm, the short film received 13 nominations and 8 national and international awards during its festival run. Its national premiere was held at the Ortigia Film Festival, while its international premiere took place at the Austin International Film Festival.
In 2020, with cinematographer Paolo Talamonti, he founded Montsugi, a production company specializing in commercial audiovisuals. Here, he works as a director, producer, and artistic director, collaborating with some of the largest Italian production companies. His commercial portfolio maintains a strong cinematic approach, ranging from short films to music videos, as well as television and web commercials, with over 100 productions, some of which have been selected for/or have won awards in film festival circuits.
In 2024, Rodolfo Gusmeroli and director Andrea Lazzari founded Chaawpi, a branch of Waamoz S.r.l., an audiovisual production company focused on author-driven projects. Gusmeroli is developing the documentary series "Vergante Bona, alla Scoperta!", the AI-generated short film "Vicious", and the medium-length film "ERAGABBER." In addition to these projects, he continues to direct music videos, commercials, and radio dramas. In 2025, he founded Studirudi, an archive of historical costumes and props dedicated to audiovisual purposes.
