Biography
Lora Marie Oberhofer Taylor is an experienced Line Producer, Production Finance Controller, and filmmaker with over 40 years in the entertainment industry. She founded Invisible Line Pictures, a production company focused on telling compelling stories about the unsung and behind-the-scenes individuals who have played key roles in the success and fame of others. Born in Munich, Germany, to American parents serving in the U.S. Army, Lora moved with her family to El Paso, Texas, after their military posting. She attended Catholic school before switching to public school, where she excelled in competitive tennis across the southwestern United States. Later, her family relocated to Los Angeles, where she started high school and became deeply involved in the entertainment world. As a teenager, she worked as a background artist on numerous film and TV projects while still in school, landing small roles in major productions like Grease, Big Wednesday, American Hot Wax, Happy Days, and Barretta. She also pursued singing, performing in showcases and attending recording sessions with legendary artists such as Billy Preston, L.A. Express, the Rolling Stones, and Leon Russell. Music producer Kim Fowley recruited her for the all-female rock band The Runaways, but her strict military father denied permission for her to tour Japan as a minor. Transitioning behind the camera, Lora entered production finance, starting as a payroll accountant at Warner Bros. Studio, working on prominent feature films and popular TV series. Throughout her extensive career, she has contributed to major international productions in production finance. After marriage and raising children, she took time off to focus on family, volunteering extensively, raising funds, and editing the newsletter for a golf tournament benefiting wildfire victims. Once her children were older, she returned to the industry and has spent the last 35 years serving as a Line Producer and Production Finance Controller for independent features, documentaries, and TV productions. She has partnered with leading production companies on both scripted and unscripted projects, often traveling internationally to handle complex budgets and logistics. Recently, Lora founded Invisible Line Pictures to highlight the vital contributions of crew members, collaborators, and hidden talents whose work has supported the careers and achievements of many prominent artists and productions. Today, she continues to produce, develop, and collaborate on film, television, and documentary projects worldwide, bringing deep expertise in creative budgeting, international co-productions, high-level talent coordination, and bringing powerful, untold stories to life.
