Andy Hernandez - Emmy-Nominated Producer, Creator of Real Talk
Andy Hernandez is an Emmy-nominated producer with over two decades of experience in the film, television, and entertainment industry. Known for his keen eye for storytelling and ability to create powerful, captivating content, Andy has made a lasting impact across multiple media platforms.
Born in the Dominican Republic, Andy moved to New York City at the age of 10 with his family, where he discovered his passion for the entertainment industry. By 15, he was already making a name for himself in Special Effects Makeup, attending the prestigious EFX School of the Arts in NYC. His early talent led him to collaborate with legends such as Rick Baker, Tom Savini, and Stan Smith, working on iconic projects like Michael Jackson's Thriller music video.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Andy also stepped into the boxing ring in the 1980s, showcasing his resilience and determination both in and outside of the entertainment world. He later pursued higher education at Bronx Community College, graduating with honors in Television Production, followed by a BA in Communications, Film, and Video from New York University. During this time, he gained hands-on experience at The Montel Williams Show, working his way up to Assistant Producer over five years. This foundation led him to establish his own production company, DreamWorld Entertainment.
Andy's career soared when he became a producer for Caso Cerrado on the Telemundo/NBC TV Network, overseeing over 800 segments of the groundbreaking show. In 2010, his work earned an Emmy nomination, marking a historic moment as the first Latin TV show to be recognized with such an honor. His expertise extends into music video direction and production, working with top artists such as Pitbull, Rick Ross, Jennifer Lopez, Wisin y Yandel, Daddy Yankee, and many more.
His film and television credits include contributions to Bad Boys 2, The Siege, Shaft, 15 Minutes, Girlfight, and hit TV series like The Sopranos, Third Watch, and Oz. He has produced and directed content for major networks, including HBO, MTV, Discovery Channel, Univision, and Spike TV.
Beyond film and television, Andy is also the creator of Real Talk, a fast-growing TikTok channel with over 180,000 followers and counting. Real Talk delivers raw, authentic, and thought-provoking conversations about life, relationships, resilience, and personal growth, resonating with audiences seeking real and unfiltered discussions. His ability to connect with people through powerful storytelling has turned Real Talk into a platform that continues to inspire and impact thousands worldwide.
Continuing his creative journey, Andy has collaborated with Billy Corbin (Cocaine Cowboys) to produce the Netflix documentary Dawg Fight, and worked on independent projects such as Polo Rules for FOX and the reality TV series The Label.
