Biography
Ken Carlter is a French and Tahitian filmmaker, writer, producer, and entrepreneur based in Los Angeles, California. He is recognized as a pioneering "Creative CEO," blending high-growth digital intellectual property (IP) with elevated cinematic storytelling. Through Hip's League, the international sports and entertainment platform he co-founded, Carlter has built a leading digital ecosystem dedicated to Tahitian dance and Polynesian culture worldwide. Working across directing, cinematography, editing, color grading, and music composition, his productions have generated over 2 billion cumulative views and captured a global audience of more than 4 million followers. Carlter first gained prominence through a successful music career, becoming the first Tahitian artist to sign with Sony Music RCA Records and later reaching a national television audience as a finalist in France's Eurovision selection in 2021. This musical background informs his work as a film composer, allowing him to score his own cinematic projects. For over 15 years, Carlter has also served as an official global ambassador for Air Tahiti Nui, actively structuring the international visibility and cultural legacy of French Polynesia. In 2024, Carlter became the first Tahitian filmmaker to receive the prestigious CNC Talent Award in France for the documentary series Heiva i Paris - The Ultimate Tahitian Dance Competition, Season 2.
