Biography
Davide Tucci was born on September 14, 1987, in Isola Del Liri (FR). His family later relocated to the vibrant Maltese Islands. While attending St Aloysius College, he developed a passion for creativity, which led him to study software and web design. From a young age, Davide was drawn to performing and entertaining, inspired by actors, singers, and public figures he admired growing up.
Singing has always been Davide’s passion and served as his entry into the entertainment industry. His debut role was Georg in the acclaimed musical “Spring Awakening” (2010) at St James Theatre. The success of this award-winning show solidified his love for the arts and unexpectedly launched his modeling career.
In 2011, Davide made his television debut in the Maltese crime drama “La Famiglia,” playing Valentino Saraceni. He then starred in the popular prime-time TVM series “Katrina” (2012-2014) as Clyde Montaldo, a visually impaired character warmly received by audiences. His theatre work includes the original Maltese play “Jiena Nhobb, Inti Thobb” (2014) by Simon Bartolo, which explores themes of sexuality, religion, and morality, where he portrayed the provocative character Devin. That same year, he appeared in the Maltese-Canadian eOne film “A Dangerous Arrangement” (2015), acting alongside Colm Meaney and Deborah Kara Unger. Davide played Tommaso, a young farmer employed by the affluent Vreeland family, who rescues his co-star from drowning and faces a vengeful father.
In 2015, Davide starred as Alex in TVM’s top-rated prime-time show “Ic-Caqqufa” (2015-2016), portraying a solitary figure who escapes societal materialism through his love of horses. On stage, he appeared in “Faith, Hope and Charity” (2015), set during World War II in Malta, playing Francesco Cavalli, an injured Italian pilot who falls in love with his nurse caretaker after an emergency landing.
The following year, he took on the role of John in “Limestone Cowboy” (2016), navigating complex emotions as he balances a fraught relationship with his delusional father and his responsibilities as a single parent. This film highlighted Malta’s unique cultural identity. Continuing his theatre career, Davide played Owen, a confident and sexually adventurous character, in Malcolm Gelea’s sex-comedy “Marti Martek, Martek Marti,” and portrayed the iconic Demetrius in William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (2016). This production, performed in the presidential gardens of San Anton, celebrated the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death and showcased Demetrius as an arrogant youth who falls in love with the woman he once despised.
Outside of acting, Davide enjoys traveling, adventure, horse riding, sports, and cooking. He works fluently in English, Maltese, and Italian.
