Biography

With a strong foundation in VFX and expertise in music production, Gracey consistently delivers innovative and often viral projects that captivate audiences. He attributes this unique blend to early exposure to musical theatre at home and a gap year working at Animal Logic. As the youngest animator and visual effects compositor at the company, Michael has remained at the forefront of emerging technology and its impact on the creative industry.

During his first decade in the field, he made a remarkable transition from VFX to directing numerous music videos and commercials. His visionary work earned him nearly every major commercial award for campaigns such as Evian's "Roller Babies," Cillit Bang's "The Mechanic," and the flashmob sensation "Dance" for T-Mobile.

Michael Gracey made his feature film debut in 2017 with the global hit The Greatest Showman, starring Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, and Zendaya. He followed this success as executive producer of Elton John's biopic Rocketman and is set to release his second film, Better Man, a musical biopic about Robbie Williams.
