Biography

Priit Loog (born January 6, 1984) is an Estonian actor known for his work on stage, television, and in film.

Loog's feature film debut was a minor role in the 2006 Russian-Estonian horror film Vedma (English title: The Power of Fear), directed by Oleg Fesenko. He followed this with another small part in the 2008 Estonian historical drama Detsembrikuumus, directed by Asko Kase. His first significant film role came in 2012 as Tõnn in the crime-comedy Vasaku jala reede, directed by Andres Kõpper and Arun Tamm for Tallinn Skyline Productions. In 2015, he portrayed Paul Mets in the World War II drama 1944, directed by Elmo Nüganen, which explores the conflict through the perspective of Estonian soldiers forced to choose sides. That same year, it was announced that Loog would star as Andres in Tõde ja õigus, a film adaptation of A. H. Tammsaare's extensive social epic pentalogy, directed by Tanel Toom. Production began in late 2016, with the film releasing in February 2019. For his performance, Loog won the Best Actor award at the 2020 Estonian Film and Television Awards.

Loog debuted on television portraying Richard Rõõmus in Eesti Televisioon’s (ETV) twelve-part mini-series Tuulepealne maa, which traces Estonia’s history from the War of Independence through the 1920s to World War II. In 2009, he appeared regularly on TV3’s improvisational comedy sketch show Vilde tee. From 2010 to 2013, he played Paul Moorits on the popular Kanal 2 drama series Pilvede all. Additionally, between 2010 and 2014, he made several appearances in various roles on TV3’s crime-comedy series Kättemaksukontor.

In 2021, Loog took on the role of Peeter in the comedy film Jahihooaeg, directed by Ergo Kuld, starring alongside Harriet Toompere, Mirtel Pohla, and Grete Kuld.
