Biography
Nisha Kalra is a writer, actor, comic, arts-based facilitator, opinion-haver and everywhere-but-bathroom-singer.
A credited writer on Netflix's Bhaag Beanie Bhaag, she co-wrote a dramedy feature for Tanmay Bhat at AIB and has collaborated on multiple unreleased projects with Dharma, Endemol, and Abbas Tyrewala. She's penned branded content for Spotify, Amazon Prime Video, CRED, Bumble, Nykaa, and more. A graduate of AIB's First Draft screenwriting residency, she began her career being mentored by filmmaker Nikkhil Advani at Emmay Entertainment.
Hopeful and growth-minded, Nisha has worked with Breakthrough Trust and Yuvaa to mainstream gender sensitivity through pop culture. She co-created Breakthrough's acclaimed IP Fursat Mein Serious Baatein, hosted by Varun Grover, featuring industry leaders like Sudip Sharma, Alankrita Shrivastava and Raghav Juyal. A trained actor and improv comic, she's performed socially conscious musical theatre with Rangshila at Prithvi Theatre, trained with UCB (LA), and founded Art for Oxygen, raising over 12 lakh during COVID-19.
While she builds her brand of optimistic-comedy, she also passionately works as a KPMG-certified, trauma-informed arts-based facilitator. Given her love for experiencing all worlds and engaging with all people, she uses storytelling, theatre & improv to build leadership, persona and communication competencies across corporate and social sectors.
In 2025, she continues to juggle comedy and commercial work, holding space for tough conversations, one laugh at a time.
