Biography
Nancy La Scala is an accomplished actress in film, television, and live theatre. Her latest screen appearance was in Clint Eastwood's "Jersey Boys." She has consistently secured roles alongside top talent in films such as "Guardian," "In the Cut," and the Venice Film Festival Golden Lion-nominated "Vegas: Based on a True Story," which earned her a Best Actress nomination at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival for her portrayal of Tracy. Her career gained momentum following her breakout role in the MGM cult classic "Species II."
Nancy's diverse work spans award-winning films like "Courting Chaos" (Best Comedy, Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival 2014) and acclaimed plays such as "The Importance of Being Earnest" (Producer's Encore Award, Hollywood Fringe Festival 2014). She has a sharp eye for compelling scripts across stage, screen, and television.
She became well-known on television through numerous appearances on series including "Criminal Minds," "Castle," and "Nip/Tuck." Additionally, she has featured in a variety of commercials for brands like Acura, Macy's, Ikea, Pond's, and Verizon.
Nancy rigorously honed her acting and comedic skills in New York under Sheila Gray and Freddie Karamen at Carnegie Hall, and continued her training in Los Angeles with Karen Maruyama at The Groundlings and Gary Imhoff.
Beyond acting, Nancy is a seasoned model. Leaving her humble upstate farm roots, she ventured to Europe and New York City, walking runways for YSL, Givenchy, and Christian Lacroix, and appearing in editorials for Vogue Italia, L'Officiel, and Marie Claire. One of her most notable collaborations was with photographer Helmut Newton in his 'Big Nude' series, featured on the opening page of TASCHEN's Helmut Newton: Polaroids.
A passionate animal lover, Nancy founded Throw Your Dog a Bone, a luxury pet product line inspired by her adopted pit bulls.
