David Óskar Ólafsson is one of Iceland's leading producers and directors, recognized for his bold storytelling, international collaborations, and two-decade career shaping the modern landscape of Nordic film and television. With more than twenty years of hands-on experience across development, production, and creative leadership, David has established himself as a driving force in bringing Icelandic cinema and television to the global stage.
His award-winning films and series have premiered at many of the world's most prestigious festivals, including Toronto, San Sebastián, Karlovy Vary, Locarno, Sundance, Pusan, and Berlin, earning widespread acclaim. In 2023, David was appointed Senior Vice President of Film & TV at Truenorth, one of Scandinavia's most dynamic production companies.
