Biography

Marcel Anghelescu was a renowned Romanian film and theater actor. He was born on November 3, 1909, in Craiova, Romania. He graduated from the Conservatory of Dramatic Art in Chisinau in 1933. In 1942, he played his first role in the movie Ziua cumpătării. Other notable roles include performances in Răsuna valea (1950), O scrisoare pierdută (1954), and Castelanii (1967). He performed on the stage of the National I.L. Caragiale Theater in Bucharest. He was honored with the title of Artist of the People. Marcel Anghelescu passed away on February 22, 1977, in Bucharest, Romania.
