Biography

This content is about a Ukrainian and Soviet composer who was awarded the title of Merited Artist of the Ukrainian SSR in 1958. In 1951, he also received the Stalin Prize for his work. He composed the music for the film "Chasing Two Hares".

He studied at the History and Theory Faculty of Kyiv Conservatory from 1939 to 1941, and then at the Composer Faculty of Tashkent Conservatory from 1941 to 1942. He fought against the fascists during WWII. A year after the war ended, in 1946, he graduated from Kyiv Conservatory under Levko Revuts'kyi. From 1946 to 1948, he taught theoretical subjects at Kyiv Conservatory. From 1951 to 1956, he was the secretary of the Union of Composers. From 1958 to 1976, he served as the head of the Ukrainian branch of the USSR State Committee on Sound Recordings.

As a composer, he created ballets, symphonic and chamber works, musical comedies, and music for films such as "Chasing Two Hares", "Keys to the Sky", "Star Over the Carpathians", and many other compositions.
