Biography
Isabelle was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on April 19 to Marie-Anne and Jean-Pierre Champeau. She is the middle of three sisters. Her natural charm and beauty led her into acting and modeling at the age of 17. Soon, she landed several commercials and guest roles on TV shows. Isabelle's acting career took off when she was chosen from over 500 teenagers to rollerblade in a McDonald's commercial. At 19, a talent scout selected her for a three-month modeling assignment in Japan, followed by work in Spain. While most projects involved print modeling, she spent a memorable week riding motorcycles for Kawasaki near Mount Fuji in Japan.
Isabelle has always been active, enjoying yoga, soccer, swimming, rock climbing, skating, snorkeling, and dancing. She built her team spirit through gymnastics and volleyball. In her early 20s, her parents divorced. A few years later, while studying at university, she cared for her estranged father during his battle with cancer.
Education has always been important to her. After initially exploring science with plans to study veterinary medicine, Isabelle took scriptwriting courses at Quebec University. She then pursued her passion by earning a BA in Communications Studies from Concordia University in Montreal. She deepened her interest in film by assisting her mentor, Father Marc Gervais—a film analysis teacher, author, and Cannes Film Festival judge. Isabelle attended the International Film and Video Workshops in Rockport, Maine, where she was offered an assistant teaching role three weeks after arriving. She later studied script analysis and acting with Judith Weston in Los Angeles.
In 2002, Isabelle appeared as an actor and dancer in "The Best of Billy Joel" music video, which aired in Canada and the USA. She has participated in Warren Robertson theater workshops since 2002. Beyond acting, Isabelle is involved in various aspects of the entertainment industry. She has worked in casting for children's TV shows like Caillou (PBS) and has written, directed, and produced documentaries, corporate videos, short films, and a music video titled "Red Light." She also serves as an assistant and location manager for photographers, TV shows, and films.
In early 2007, Isabelle wrote, produced, and starred in The Valley, a short film based on a true story.
