Biography
Matthew Ewald began his acting career in 2001, debuting in the feature film "Terminal Error" and portraying Nicholas Bluetooth on the popular FOX sci-fi/adventure series "Galidor." The internationally successful franchise led to Matthew receiving his own LEGO action figure and merchandising deals with Cap'N'Crunch cereal, McDonald's Happy Meal Toys, Xbox, PlayStation, and more.
Since then, Matthew has participated in over ninety productions, including the upcoming World War II film "Condor's Nest," alongside Arnold Vosloo, Michael Ironside, and Bruce Davison. He also starred in the serious remake of Edward D. Wood, Jr.'s 1959 classic "Plan 9 From Outer Space," and won the Best Actor in a Feature Film award at the Macabre Faire Film Festival for his role as Carl in the psychological horror movie "Athena."
Matthew has taken on leading roles such as the sinister Man in Black in the Amazon Prime Original Series "Morty," and showcased his versatility as an amnesiac drifter in Darkstone Entertainment's horror "The Dark Net." His upcoming projects include the horror/sci-fi drama "Blood Pledge" and the 80s-inspired thriller "The Stalker." Constantly seeking roles to immerse himself in, he is honored and excited to be involved in numerous feature films and television limited series.
In 2020, during the industry's lockdown, Matthew embraced his creativity by producing several short films and completing his first feature, "The Coffin Bound Kings." Working solo without cast or crew, he pursued his passion for acting purely for the love of performance and craft. These efforts earned over 40 awards, 12 nominations, and 25 additional honors, with critics likening his performance to a "tour de force reminiscent of the legendary Joaquin Phoenix."
In addition to acting, Matthew is a published author with multiple horror stories and four novels to his name. With a rich portfolio, relentless passion for acting, and numerous projects lined up through 2021 and beyond, Matthew aims to continue advancing his dramatic career in the genres he deeply cherishes.
