Biography
Andrea Maria Zuckermann Echagüe, born in abandonment in a humble neighborhood of Santiago, Chile, with no family support, and relying solely on the support of her maternal grandmother, an effort woman, managed to rise above her circumstances in the fierce military dictatorship.
Andrea achieved significant milestones, such as training as a classically trained theater actress, a feat accomplished exclusively through her own discipline as a student, confronting many obstacles along the artistic way. All of this has endowed her with a heightened social consciousness, since she was a young actress.
Her different Latina appearance and look is attributed to her biological parents (Her biological father was from Austria).
While studying at the the little humble school for children, Victoria Prieto School, Andrea discovered the love for all arts.
At 16, she was discovered as model in Chile, she began her career walking catwalks supported by the great designer Jaime "Oso" Troncoso, who was a kind friend that guide her, and starring in commercials and print ads for noteworthy designers and brands around the globe.
After huge efforts she was selected to model for Elite Model Management, based in Paris and London at the ripe age of 16, but after an unfortunate and very dangerous accident, she returned to Chile where she resumed her work as a hauteur couture model and theater producer, also as waitress in restaurants, and as a young saleswoman door by door.
In addition to attending the theater school DUOC UC, Andrea has taken many classes to be always prepared, like singer classes with Ana Maria Meza in ProJazz, clown classes with the director Alex Navarro in Barcelona, Spain, Stand-up lessons in Chile with Rodrigo Gonzalez Rubio and Leon Murillo, and Stand-up classes with the renowned teacher Greg Dean in California, also script writing courses in Chile with Aliú Garcia Regalado, and comic courses in Chile with illustrators Alberto Montt and Francisco Olea. She's also studied with Broadway actors Michael Shantz from NY, and with more directors.
She has written, directed and produced many theatre plays and has been acting on stage for over 35 years, but always willing to learn.
You may recognize Andrea from her many TV appearances or in the Oscar-nominated film "NO", directed by acclaimed director Pablo Larraín (Fábula), as well as many other films. Lastly, with over 100.000 Million views on YouTube as "Señorita Rosita Duplicado", the character for the series "Cantando Aprendo Hablar", Andrea stands out tremendously on the Internet.
She also written, produced, directed and acted/hosted many corporate and companies events, also as MC.
While artists from all over the world, like Norton Massa, Alfredo Echazarreta, Soledad Alsina, Livia Keller, and Aguilar More call Andrea their model, she's walked in a number of fashion shows for numerous huge brands as well.
Andrea is a talented painter and has had numerous exhibitions in Chile, Spain, and United States.
Additionally, she's judged some arts festivals including the Music Festival of the Chilean Army, and the Anakena School of Performing Arts Festival for children with down syndrome, and people with dis-capacities.
A philanthropist at heart, Andrea always support Maria Jesus Vergara Foundation that cares for children with cancer. She also once teamed up with Bernardo Javalquinto (Ecology Economist), working for many years to reduce the use of plastic bags in Chile.
She currently belongs to a number of trade unions and artist associations in Chile, including SIDARTE, CHILEACTORES, APECH AIAP, and UNA Artists Organization (Chile).
In her spare time, Andrea enjoys spending time with her son Vicente Prieto Zuckermann. Vicente went to the Waldorf School of Anthroposophical Philosophy and he's now a DP and film and TV direction from the great University of Chile. Andrea was a single mom most of the time.
Andrea believes that living a healthy lifestyle, with yoga, Pilates, and meditation, is the key to a focused life.
Besides acting, painting, singing, and directing, she regularly appears on a number of TV shows as a guest and co-host.
She also has been doing Standup Comedy, Comedy, and Clown, in many scenarios, activities and festivals, also in The Hollywood Fringe Festival, with some very important Directors, as Chad Damiani (Resident Clown Director at The Elysian Theatre), Erik Davis (Buffon Director in USA and Europe), Greg Dean (Standup Comedy Master), and more names.
Andrea was directed in her last participation in a movie in LA by the claimed American actor and director Connor Storrie.
Andrea (2026) currently lives and travels between Santiago due Chile and Los Angeles, California.
