Biography

Nancylee Myatt has been writing and producing primetime television, films, and plays for over two decades. Her TV credits include working on the final two seasons of "Night Court," where she also wrote the series finale. She contributed to the groundbreaking political satire "The Powers That Be" alongside her mentor Norman Lear and produced and wrote for "The Five Mrs. Buchanans" and "Living Single," earning a NAACP award for the latter.

Ms. Myatt created and produced the teen sitcom "Social Studies" for UPN. She spent two seasons writing episodes for Disney TV Animation and ABC shows such as "Recess," "Lloyd in Space," and "Teacher's Pet," winning an Emmy in 2001. She wrote, produced, and filmed a pilot for a cop show set in New Orleans called "Nikki & Nora," focusing on two women partners in both work and life, which led to a collaboration with Barry Sonnenfeld. Together, they co-created the sci-fi dramedy pilot "The Trackers" for Sony TV.

She adapted the award-winning teen novels "Annie On My Mind" and "A Time For Dancing" for television, the latter earning her a writing Emmy nomination. Ms. Myatt then launched and served as Co-Executive Producer, showrunner, writer, and director for the first two seasons of "South Of Nowhere" on TEENick (MTV Networks). The show received two consecutive GLAAD Media Award nominations for Best Outstanding Drama and a Teen Choice nomination for Best Breakout Show.

In collaboration with Ralph Macchio, Ms. Myatt co-wrote a teen pilot for ABC Family titled "Cupidity." Her web credits include the acclaimed and award-winning web series 3WayTV. She is also a contributor to the lifestyle and culture website InTheLandofCocktails.com. On tellofilms.com, viewers can watch two seasons of her all-female western comedy "Cowgirl Up," as well as a web reboot of her mystery series "Nikki and Nora," centered on a couple living and working together in New Orleans. In her free time, Ms. Myatt enjoys betting on horses at the track and exploring great cocktails and conversation.
