Synopsis
A host of Saudi stars headline the social comedy series "Horooj", airing this Ramadan on MBC and Shahid. The ensemble cast includes Abdulaziz Al-Shihri, Saad Aziz, Fahad Al-Mutairi, Ziyad Al-Omari, and Khalid Abdulaziz, with appearances by veteran actors such as Abdullah Al-Sadhan, Ali Ibrahim, and Misha'AL Al-Mutairi, alongside actresses Reem Al-Habib and Asayel Mohammed. "Horooj" is an anthology series made up of standalone episodes, each presenting a unique, self-contained story that blends comedy with suspense. Highlights include: "AlMotnabi", following a young man who develops the uncanny ability to predict football match results - a gift that sends him on a thrilling and risky adventure. "Hey WHO haja", where two inmates seize the opportunity of an Umrah trip to make a daring escape. "Tabuk winter", a suspenseful tale of two treasure hunters trapped in a small cabin by a snowstorm, forced to face more than just the cold. "Father's Back", in which a son stumbles upon a mysterious tattoo on his father's back - a discovery that leads to a heartfelt journey and deeper understanding between them. Veteran actor Abdullah Al-Sadhan, who stars in "Alwashim", shares: "I portray a father guarding a secret that stirs tension within the family, leading to both comedic and emotional moments. What sets 'Horooj' apart is the diversity of stories and the rotating cast - each episode introduces a fresh face, bringing renewed energy and perspective to the series' comedic and social themes." "Horooj" is produced under the creative direction of Aws Al-Sharqi and Faisal AlAmer, the team behind acclaimed shows like "Sikat Safar" and "Masameer". The series is co-directed by three prominent Saudi filmmakers: Faisal AlAmer, Majed Al-Eisa, and Meshari Al-Mazyad.
