Synopsis

The documentary "De Geest van de Pierson NU" focuses on the impact of Nijmegen's activism both currently and during the Pierson actions that occurred 40 years ago. Through interviews with younger individuals involved in the squatters' movement and those from the past, the film examines the challenges of activism, housing, and other pertinent social issues, and how these factors have influenced people's lives. In addition to featuring squatters, housing coalition members, and politically active students, the documentary follows activists who advocate for various causes such as environmentalism, refugee support, gender diversity, and Black Lives Matter.
