Orlando Moguel Granados, born April 14, 1973, is a Mexican actor and producer.
In 1997, Moguel studied drama at the "Centro de Teatro y Danza," now known as "El Círculo Teatral de Alberto Estrella." He further developed his skills under film directors Arturo Ripstein, Felipe Cazals, Ignacio Ortiz Cruz, Jorge Zepeda, and acting coach Raúl Zermeño (RIP).
Beginning his professional career in 2000, Orlando focused primarily on film and television series. He starred opposite Tim Roth in the Mexican drama "600 Miles" (2015), which was featured in the Panorama section of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival and won Best First Feature. The film was Mexico's official submission for Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards. "600 Miles" also received the Ariel Award and was nominated for Best First Fiction Film at the 2016 Platinum Awards.
Orlando portrayed Diego Fenton, a perverted photographer, in the Amazon Prime Video series "Falco" (2018), directed by Ernesto Contreras. The series won the 2019 International Emmy® Award for Best Foreign Language Series.
His other projects include "B-167-980-098," directed by Mariana and Santiago Arriaga and written by renowned screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga (Amores Perros, 21 Grams, Babel), as well as the Netflix original series "Crime Diaries: The Candidate," directed by Natalia Beristain and Hiromi Kamata.
Moguel played the lead role in "ColOZio" (2020), directed by Artemio Narro. The film premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2020.
He appeared in "On Childhood" (2010), directed by Carlos Carrera (The Crime of Padre Amaro), one of Mexico's most acclaimed directors, and starred opposite Jimmy Jean-Louis in "The Empty Box" (2016), directed by Claudia Sainte-Luce.
Moguel has collaborated with filmmakers and producers such as Jorge Michel Grau, Michel Franco, Santiago García Galván, Javier Patrón Fox, Pitipol Ibarra, Carlos Bolado, Fernando Sariñana, and Humberto Hinojosa. He has shared the screen with actors including Joaquín Cosío, Damián Alcázar, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Ilse Salas, Dolores Heredia, Roberto Sosa, and Luis Felipe Tovar.
Additionally, he serves as an associate producer for "Dispositio" (2014), the TV series "Frame" (2020), and the short film "Taxi" (2021).
